Everyone wants their Toyota vehicle to run as well as possible. The good news is: it's not up to fate! You can actually do something about it. There are many things you can do that will affect the life and performance of your Toyota . This web page gives you excellent Toyota tips for keeping great care of your vehicle.

Here are some great Toyota car care tips:

  • Engine Oil. One of the most beneficial things you can do to maintain the performance, and extend the life, of your Toyota vehicle is changing the oil and oil filter on a regular basis--every 3 months or 3,000 miles, whichever comes first. Also an important tip: replace your air filter, usually every 15,000-20,000 miles, depending on the dust content of the atmosphere in which you drive.
  • Tires. Check your tire tread every month or so for unusual or excessive wear. Keep your tires properly inflated. Each Toyota vehicle requires tires to be inflated at different psi. Refer to your owner's manual or the driver's door panel to find out how inflated your tires should be. Keep your tires properly balanced and aligned. Poor alignment will mercilessly wear tires down far quicker than normal.
  • Cooling System. Many factors other than outside temperature can affect this system and impair its ability to keep your engine operating within the proper temperature range. A great tip is to have the radiator checked, along with the hoses and hose connections. The cooling system should be flushed and changed every 30,000 miles or so.
  • Battery . Have your battery tested and replaced if necessary with to ensure reliable starting. The same goes for spark plugs.
  • Wiper Blades. It's easy, here's a tip: if your wiper blades are streaking to the point of frustration, change them! You might only need to replace the rubber blade inserts themselves.
  • Brakes. You can't prevent brake components from wearing, but you can make sure your braking system is functioning at peak performance. Get your brakes checked every year by a mechanic. And if they're already squealing like stuck pigs, get them checked ASAP. Nothing can be more dangerous or annoying that faulty brakes.
  • Clean Car. Hey, keep your vehicle clean. Wash it every other week or so. Not only does cleaning improve the vehicle's appearance, it will help prevent dirt build-up that may lead to rust.
